Calcined Flint Clay is made of calcined raw mineral by high-fired. Calcined Clay contains Al2O3 approximately 44% and Fe2O3 less than 2%. It is stable, finely texture, compact structure and conchoidal section.

The structure and composition of Calcined Fflint Clay is complex, there is no regular structure and composition. Calcined Flint Clay is not easily dispersed in water and has the characteristic of low plasticity. At present, Chinese Flint Clay are mostly deposition single mineral type kaolinite clay. Occasionally there are dickite or water associated mica minerals. Al2O3 and SiO2 content fluctuates in a smaller range. From the view of chemical composition, it is close to the theoretical composition of kaolinite (Al2O3/3SiO2 = 0.85), except free quartz contained in impurities, there is a small amount of iron minerals and alkali metal oxides.
After calcinated at high temperature the colors of calcined flint clay are: white, light gray, yellow brown, as well as a small amount of brown metal material.

First, Flint Clay is a mixture of a variety of aluminum and silicate. Main chemical components are Al2O3 and SiO2, impurities are mainly alkali, alkaline earth and iron, titanium oxides, as well as some organic compounds.
A variety of oxide flux effect will reduce the refractoriness of materials. Therefore, the less of the content of impurity in the Calcined Flint Clay, the higher refractoriness it is,especially the lower Na2O + K2O effect. The Al2O3/3SiO2 ratio closer to the theoretical value (A / S = 0.85), it indicates that the higher purity of Calcined Flint Clay. A / S higher. Calcined Flint Clay refractoriness will be higher, melting range wii be wider. Refractoriness of High quality calcined flint clay is more than 1750 ℃.

In addition,after calcined at high temperature. Calcined Flint Clay has the characters of size stability, high strength and low water absorption. Specification of Calcined Flint Clay includes true specific gravity, bulk density, porosity, water absorption, firing shrinkage and so on. High quality Calcined Flint Clay has water absorption less than 5%, bulk density more than 2.55g/cm3.

(2)Al2O3：≥45%；Fe2O3：≤1.2%；B.D.：≥2.50g/cm3；
(3)Al2O3：≥46%；Fe2O3：≤1.2%；B.D.：≥2.55～2.58g/cm3；

In addition, content of K2O+Na2O+CaO+MgO is less than 0.5～1.0%
Granularity: As the request of contract, granularity includes 100mm、50mm、30mm、25mm、5mm、3mm、2mm、1mm and 100mesh、200mesh etc.

Water ratio: 0.5～1.0%(negotiatory for the goods)
